For more than 50 years The Scouts of Hertfordshire have been visiting Lochearnhead Scout Station creating magical memories that stay with them for the rest of their lives.

With the support of a generous bequest from the estate of Maurice Baker we have refurbished the main station building and Finnlog cabins to a contemporary standard – setting the scene for more magical memories to be created.

We are now embarking upon developing the station further based upon feedback from our users – providing improved leader accommodation and a multi-use space – both designed in keeping with the Station aesthetic.

Key to the delivery of these aspirations is raising further funds to build upon the momentum created by the bequest. Over the next 18 months we target raising a further £150,000 and for this we need your support.

Help us by using either our existing fundraising platforms – or in identifying individual or corporate donors.

THE TRANSFORMATION SO FAR:

2022 has been a year of transformation and regeneration for Lochearnhead - Scout Station, with the Station being a base for 50 years, it was time to set the stage for future magical experiences to be created.

The generous bequest of Maurice Baker enabled a comprehensive programme of renovation, refurbishment and renewal. This was carried out to provide modern facilities, whilst being sensitive to the heritage of the station, both rail and Scouting.
